End Of November Update

Went to my pre-admission appointment the other day, got blood tests done, weighed, got alot of paperwork filled in and spoke to doctors/nurses about the procedures i am getting done along with my laparoscopy. i might be staying in overnight afterwards depending on how the surgery goes, depending on how much pain im in after the surgery and what their opinion is on how it went.
In general im about to go through the 'dreaded week' and the pain levels have already increased to the point of needing strong pain relief.. I also feel a sense of needing to be away from people as im sore, moody, emotional, and having trouble understanding how i feel about things and how to react about things and just in general feel insecure somehow and don't know why.
The pain is only just bearable even with pain relief, i'm sick of waiting for the surgery date phone call/or letter, the nurses strike thing has messed up alot with surgeries being delayed, beds being closed/unavailable, and yeah not good, probably gonna be stuck waiting until january for surgery as it's already the very end of november and they dont do surgeries in december unless its a catagory one, meaning urgent, so im sure i will end up with the end of january to be scheduled.. sick of waiting and it wouldn't matter how often i went into the emergency dept in the hospital as they class my condition as catagory 2 meaning 1-3months usually 3 because of the long public waiting list. will update again next month most likely. and btw my b'day was good.

Really looking foward to my 23rd birthday this month :) Gonna be going to Phillip Island, Victoria for two days to have some fun.. Been sore everyday except had one pain-free day last week, was nice for to experience. I have a pre-admission appointment later this month as mentioned in my last post.. Hoping for a surgery date soon, i don't wanna be in this much pain, i already dislike taking strong medications..

Another Update..

Been booked in for a pre-admission appointment at the hospital on the 22nd of November for Anesthetic & other pre-arrangements for my surgery. 
Also been having issues with my lactose intolerance; nausea, vomiting, indigestion & heartburn.
Also asthma attacks & allergies are quite frequent with the weird weather changes here from raining-windy-hail-freezing cold-then really hot weather :P not liking it as it makes my endometriosis play up more. The lower back pains are quite frequent with my other pains.. will update again next month..

Update For October

Well.. i've been in & out of hospital quite frequently with my Endometriosis pains, multiple morphine shots, anti-nausea shots & generally feeling yuckky afterwards.. I've finally made it to the top of the waiting list and now i'm awaiting a date for my surgeries.. Laparoscopy, Hystroscopy, Hydrotubation, and d&c

Orthopaedics Appointment 1st September 2011

Left & Right Knee Medial Feuero -Patellar Plica Syndrome (Squduitis)
Vastus Medial Obliqus Dysfunction
X-rays showed up as normal as its tissue inflamation damage.
Will attempt Physiotherapy after being placed on the referral list tomorrow
and if that is unsuccessful then there might need to be operative medical intervention
to cut out part of the medial ligament in order to correct the 'J'sign in the left knee.

An Update..

Been feeling extremely sore lately.. Pains got to the point of unbearable & i went to the hospital. I was seen as a category #1 (meaning urgent) & shown to a bed & given a gown, changed into it & given two warm blankets, then i explained that i was in pain & briefly filled them in on my medical history. Then blood & urine samples were taken & they administered a needle of anti-inflammatory (painful) and two shots of anti-nausea liquid via I.V. Then i was given a total of #3 doses of Morphine via I.V in my arm. I was there for around 3+hrs. I see my GP today, & i'll be letting her know about my condition getting worse. *~Kaitlyn~*

Small story about my Endometriosis

Hi, my name is Kaitlyn. I'm 22 1/2yrs, and i have Endometriosis. 
I was diagnosed with it at the age of 17yrs (2006) via my symptoms 
& Laparoscopy in July 2008 to remove it. 
As you might have noticed, my results are written in my 1st post. 
I started getting pains in July 2006 with heavy bleeding, sore tummy, back pains & i had to try and have a short sleep around 4pm-6pm to help have enough energy to cook dinner,hang out with friends.. etc.. 
I have a large medical file at the hospital & at my doctors related to Endo pains ~ Emergency admissions, Ultrasound, Blood tests & more..


CURRENT UPDATE:


I'm seeing an Endometriosis specialist in early August for to see if he can personally do a Laparoscopy for me asap as my Endo has grown back according to an internal ultrasound he did & the pain is bad again, with break-through bleeding every 2 weeks.. will update my blog next month.


Keep fighting the endo & hope for a cure one day..

HISTOPATHOLOGY REPORT

Clinical Notes: Chronic Pelvic Pain, Dysmenorrhoea, Dysparenia.

SPECIMEN: Five pots received.

1. Uterine curettings: A large amount of soft red brown tissue. All processed.

2. Left utero-sacral endometriosis: a single fragment of ragged, tan tissue, 7x8x3mm. 

Processed whole. 

3. Pouch of Douglas, endometriosis: a single fragment of tan tissue with attached fat, 14x10x5mm. Margins marked. Trisected transversely and all processed.

4. Right pelvic wall, endometriosis: An elongated fragment of brown tissue, 35x10x6mm. Processed whole.

5. Right utero-sacral endometriosis: A fragment of tan tissue, 10x8x6mm. Processed whole.

MICROSCOPY

1. The glands are small, sparse and appear inactive. The Stroma appears mildly oedematous and shows pseudodecidual changes. There is no evidence of endometritis, hyperplasia, or malignancy.

2,3,4&5. These four biopsies show similar features. Groups of glands and cells resembling those of endometrial glands and endometrial stroma are seen scattered through fibrocious tissue. The glandular component is atrophic. The stromal component shows pseudodecidual change. There is no evidence of malignancy.

CONCLUSION

1. Uterine curettings: Hypoplastic endometrium, consistant with 'pill' endometrium.

2,3,4&5. Left utero-sacral, Pouch of Douglas, Right pelvic wall, Right utero-sacral endometriosis: Endometriosis.
